Frequently asked questions - presenterCue
How can I move my License from one computer to another?
Just enter a "wrong" license code in the license field and press "OK" (best practice is, to change the last digit or letter) While connected to the internet, you license will automatically be deactivated and you can activate it on another computer again.
The installation of the program and your presets is not effected. If you'd like use the license simultaneously on more than one computer (e.g. in a rental environment), please contact out sales team. They will be pleased to send you an offer for site licenses.
I cannot connect a client to the server application.
What´s going wrong?
Well, actually there are two possibilities. First of all - if you downloaded the server from Mac App Store, you actually can't. This version is free and can be used to rehearse timed speeches, group presentations, and manage meetings - and cannot be used as a stage timer in a professional environment.
Secondly - if you do have a version of presenterCue Server which should be able to connect to one or more clients, then please check you network settings. presenterCue Server communicates via Bonjour - so both, the client and the server need to be in the same network.
How can i show the timer on an external screen?
Well, if you downloaded the server from Mac App Store, you actually can't. In this case please contact our support team. You can find more information here.
If you already bought the server, then just install the client version on a computer in the same network. Then put the client into fullscreen mode (CMD-F). The client is connected and synchronised automatically with the server. You can download either one in the App Store.
How can i copy or archive my presets ?
Your settings are automatically stored, while typing. If you want to save them for later use, just go to ~/Library/Containers/com.nominari.presenterCueServer/Data/Library/Application Support/presenterCue/1.2/
The settings for your countdown
Can I use more than one server in the same network?
Unfortunately not. The time being presenterCue supports only one server in a network. We are working on it.
Can I use more than one client?
Sure - and it doesn´t matter if you use the Mac or the iOS clients. The number of clients you can use depend on the setup, the bandwidth of your network and last but not least on the license you bought. Theoretically you can use as many clients as you want. The network service is broadcasted to all running clients in the same network.
How can I change the timezone?
You can change the timezone in the settings of your computer. Go to System Preferences - Date & Time and change the timezone according to your needs. You will need to restart the server and the client.
Do I need to configure something to get a client up and running?
No. Seriously. The synchronising mechanism is based on "Bonjour" - if both, the server and the client, are in the same network they will find each other automatically.
The client and the server are not showing the same time, what can i do?
That´s quite easy - the server is not sending the real countdown to the client. It is sending only a kind of "trigger" signal. The countdown time is calculated on each client based on the system time. So please make sure, that all devices are in the same timezone and that they are totally in sync. The easiest way to achieve that, is to enable "Set date and time automatically" in System Preferences - Date & Time.
